Network Knowledge Is Power Successful business revolves around the efficient movement of data. That's why you need a network that effectively links employees, customers, and suppliers to a universe of vital information. However, many companies have a disparate set of networks that have become too complex and difficult to manage. Other companies may be in the process of restructuring their businesses. For a variety of reasons, many enterprises are seeking to migrate to more efficient, cost-effective networks using emerging technologies, which may be very challenging, given the state of their legacy networks. Changing network components or adding applications may impact the entire network. That's why Assessment, Networking Professional Services (NPS), is a vital first step for our clients towards a better understanding of and more valuable use of their network. What's Involved? Assessment includes an evaluation of client networks, including an analysis of current systems and network infrastructure. It clarifies business and technology requirements; defines network security, performance, reliability, and management requirements; identifies network interfaces; and, outlines how a migration strategy can benefit an organization. NPS can combine its tactical approach to identify shortcomings in the current WAN/LAN network infrastructure with a strategic approach to plan for and initiate the process of gracefully evolving today's network into a network capable of supporting the business challenges of the future. An Assessment may consist of any or all of the following components based on individual client needs: 1. Network Inventory - Collects all necessary data via site visits and on-site interviews to be incorporated into an overall network architecture. 2. Requirements Analysis - Reviews relevant factors, including business drivers, current network infrastructure, industry "best-in-class" practices, and application needs as well as end-user, traffic, and performance requirements. 3. Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Analysis - Identifies SWOT factors, the implications arising from them, and the potential actions surrounding these issues. 4. Recommendations - As a culmination of inventory, requirements, and SWOT analysis, provides an overview of the network's opportunities and vulnerabilities. Examples of bundled network assessment services comprised of components described above, include:
